A Letter from our Board President, Geri Livengood:

On behalf of Interweave’s Board of Trustees, I am very pleased to welcome Janet Maulbeck as interim Executive Director. Many of you already know Janet, and will appreciate her unique qualifications to lead the organization at this critical juncture.  She has been involved with Interweave since 2001, and served on the Board of Trustees for almost a decade. As Board president she skillfully guided us through a delicate transition as we moved from a founder/director model into the next stage of our development.

Janet has 20 years of community building and non-profit leadership experience, as well as deep roots in the Summit community. She served on the Summit Board of Education from 1997-2003, including one year as president. From 2003-2009 she was Director of Community Development at the Summit Area YMCA. Janet has served on the Mayor’s Task Force for Diversity, sits on the Overlook Community Health Committee, and chairs the Alliance for Latino Leadership, a local group that offers scholarships and support to Hispanic students.

Janet brings a deep commitment to and understanding of communities of faith and the common good. A trained group facilitator, she holds a BA in Social Work, Certification in Spiritual Guidance, and has experience as a retreat leader. A founding member and program coordinator of Trinity Ministries Center, Janet developed and coordinated retreats, workshops, support groups, and personal growth programs in collaboration with clergy and other lay ministers.

Equally important for us at this important crossroads for Interweave, Janet brings hands-on understanding of fundraising and organizational development, as well as wide and deep experience managing and implementing programs. She led the critically acclaimed Dreamcatcher Repertory Theater Company during its fledgling years. She chaired Interweave’s Development Committee, and played a key role in several fundraising campaigns for us.

I hope you will join me in welcoming Janet, and that you will offer your support as she brings her passion, energy and many gifts to the work of advancing the mission of Interweave.

Very Truly Yours,

Geri

A Letter from our Interim Executive Director, Janet Maulbeck:

Dear Members of the Interweave Community,

I am proud and honored that Interweave’s Board of Trustees has chosen me as interim Executive Director. As many of you know, Interweave has been an integral part of my life for more than a decade. In this new role I am simply coming home, happy and grateful to have an opportunity to further Interweave’s mission in yet another way.

I know that many of you, like me, have found a home at Interweave. This is a place of welcome and hospitality where you can grow and share your authentic self. I hope you will join me in protecting and strengthening this living space that nurtures wholistic and transformative experiences, not just for ourselves but for our world.

The role of “interim” is one I embrace. I envision the coming months of “in-between” time as a gift. I imagine for our community a period of energizing, improvising and creating, anchoring ourselves in our mission as well as reimagining and exploring new possibilities. I have been deeply impacted by Interweave’s mission and truly believe that our transformative work and interfaith approach to spirituality is needed now more than ever.

Our mission and our community are vibrant. Still, along with many other non-profits, we face challenging fiscal times. In addition, like other founder-based organizations, we continue to navigate these years of transitional growth. I am so grateful to Janet Haag for her important contribution in moving us forward in the initial stages.

An anonymous donor’s extraordinary gift offers us the opportunity to strengthen our foundation and find ways to build and further our purpose and mission. I hope it will be the first of many as each of us is inspired to commit to this wonderful organization.

In the coming weeks and months I look forward to meeting and speaking with many of you as we explore ways to advance the important work of Interweave. Together we will make the future possible.

Blessings and Thanks,

Janet
