June Spirituality Day!

Spiritual Warriorhood for Living and Serving

Modern life can be filled with so many pressures, competing calls for attention, and conflicts that it can seem a struggle. “Just keeping up with my email makes me tired,” more than one person complains. This day will explore specific practices that can make you a “peaceable warrior,” engaged in the spiritual struggle to be grounded in peace and attuned to your highest values. How can you resist all that would erode your values? How can you respond in ways that serve good in the world?  How can you be resilient in the face of the fears and uncertainties of our era?

9:15  a.m. Keynote:

Mark Beckwith,

Cultivating a Peaceful Mind with Peter Kurczynski. The mind can be trained way from its fretful reactivity toward more peaceful responses to any and every event. Using methods from the Buddhist tradition, learn steps toward an inner reservoir of peace.

Burn-out and Transformation with Tim O’Connell. The signals of impending burnout—from work, volunteering, serving family needs, or just listening to the news—can also be used as wake-up calls for personal transformation. Explore clear steps to turn from burnout to renewal.
