Interweave is a community learning center teaching skills for wholistic living that strengthen wellness, deepen spirituality and promote the common good. We equip people for the challenges of this critical turning-point in the world’s history, so full of the loss and recovery of soul, the clash and convergence of religions, and the crisis and opportunity of environmental change.
YOU CAN LEARN how:
To listen to the soul, our deepest wisdom, speaking through thought and feeling, intuition and imagination, guiding us to creative solutions and practical actions.
To seek wellness for self and society through multi-disciplinary approaches, rather than polarized, one-way-only solutions, whether medically, politically, or intellectually.
To see nature as a living community, not just “the environment” — a community of which humanity is an inseparable part, thriving or diminishing along with the rest.
To respect this multi-cultural, multi-religious world, with openness to truth from any source, and deep rooting in our own faith and traditions.
Please note: We offer education, not treatment. A regional, inter-religious, community-based membership organization chartered in 1980, Interweave is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation.

Interweave’s Founder and Director
ROBERT CORIN MORRIS is a trained spiritual director, meditation teacher, retreat and conference leader, and frequent contributor to Weavings magazine, an ecumenical journal of the spiritual life. An Episcopal priest with long experience in interreligious dialogue. He is the author of three books: Wrestling with Grace: A Spirituality for the Rough Edges of Daily Life (Upper Room, 2003), Suffering and the Courage of God (Paraclete, 2005), and the forthcoming Provocative Grace: The Challenge in Jesus’ Words (Upper Room, Summer 2006).
Bob started The Interweave Center in 1980 as an offshoot of his ministry at Calvary Church in Summit , NJ . Through lectures, courses, seminars, one day and weekend programs, Interweave instructors offer a wide variety of programs, ranging from body-work classes to an on-going spiritual companions program to a journaling class.
“For over 25 years, Interweave has focused on the interconnection of individual and community, material world and spiritual world,” explains Morris. “Our students come from all classes, all walks of life, all races and religious backgrounds. What they have in common with one another is a desire to learn more about methods, practices and traditions that may seem “alternative” but which have been proven to improve wellness and enhance spirituality. Interweave’s courses are for anyone who is interested in the physical and spiritual health of themselves, their families and their community. You don’t need a particular skill level. But you do need an open mind.”
Bob speaks at venues throughout New Jersey and New York on a wide variety of topics, including special workshops on each of his three books (see above), as well as these other topics. He will also work to tailor-make a presentation or retreat for a particular group or institution.
“Wrestling with Grace: Frustration as a Doorway to Spiritual Practice” Instead of being defeated by frustration, annoyance and discouragement, we can learn ways to let them becoming the occasions for "blessing, not cursing' ourselves and others. ( See Bob's article on this subject )
“How to Find an Adult Faith: Getting Beyond Simple Minded Religion” There are positive steps you can take to leave behind the simple, narrow, or old-fashioned ideas of childhood religion and find a mature faith without starting from scratch. Bob presents the building blocks of a more seasoned approach to spiritual tradition, especially the Judaeo-Christian heritage embodied in the Bible.
“Mind-Body Medicine and The Ministry of Healing” Practical methods -- drawn from mind-body medicine, Therapeutic Touch, spiritual healing practices, and the new scientific research into healing prayer -- can help promote wellness, stress reduction, compassion and deeper life-satisfaction in oneself and others. Can be combined with teaching about the history of spiritual healing in the Christian tradition for church healing teams.
