Dances of Universal Peace
Harmony & Healing in Movement
The Dances of Universal Peace are a powerful, joyous form of interfaith group meditation and prayer. Using sacred phrases and chants, simple music and movements inspired from many spiritual traditions, the dances promote what deeply unites us—one Source, one Essence. Participation, not presentation, is the focus. No musical or dance experience of any kind is required and everyone is welcome to join in.

What Is God?
A Cross-Cultural Primer in Encountering the Mystery of Life
Whether you believe in a God or not, the “God-phenomenon” itself is part of the experience of significant numbers of human beings in every age and culture. What typically happens in such an encounter? What are the main aspects of the idea of God or gods that results? What are the social, personal, emotional components of spiritual pathways and religions that enshrine the God-phenomenon? We’ll look at different ideas of God from the Abrahamic Faiths and the East, as well as ancient nature religion to seek clues as to the common ground behind these experiences, and how God-ideas function for good, and sometimes ill, in human life.

A Monthly Writing Circle
“There’s nothing to writing,” says Red Smith. “All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.” Take the plunge with our supportive circle, a monthly morning for writing and sharing writing. This adventure still requires courage and what Frederick Buechner calls “a certain kind of unguardedness, a willingness to run risks, including the risk of making a fool of yourself.” Each month we will seek inspiration from a different source. A dedicated time of practice and encouragement from other Summit Center writers will help us hone our craft and make writing a regular part of our lives. Sessions are free-standing; come to one or all.

Transformation through Film
The Work We Do When We Watch a Movie
Movies can change lives. Learn how going to the movies can become a tool for deep spiritual and emotional transformation. “Movie Yoga,” a phrase coined by author and Director of Grof Transpersonal Training Tav Sparks, is the work we do on ourselves when we watch a film. It involves becoming aware of our reactions and deep associations, then working with these feelings so that they can transform us. This inner work helps us be transformed by a film rather than be beguiled and misled by it.
