Janet Maulbeck

Executive Director

Janet Maulbeck has been involved with Interweave since 2001. She served on the Board of Trustees for almost a decade. As Board president she guided Interweave through the transition as the organization moved from a founder/director model into the next stage of our development.

Janet has 20 years of community building and non-profit leadership experience, as well as deep roots in the Summit community. She served on the Summit Board of Education from 1997-2003, including one year as president. From 2003-2009 she was Director of Community Development at the Summit Area YMCA. Janet has served on the Mayor’s Task Force for Diversity, sits on the Overlook Community Health Committee, and chairs the Alliance for Latino Leadership, a local group that offers scholarships and support to Hispanic students.

Janet brings a deep commitment to and understanding of communities of faith and the common good. A trained group facilitator, she holds a BA in Social Work, Certification in Spiritual Guidance, and has experience as a retreat leader. A founding member and program coordinator of Trinity Ministries Center, Janet developed and coordinated retreats, workshops, support groups, and personal growth programs in collaboration with clergy and other lay ministers.

Janet has hands-on understanding of fundraising and organizational development, as well as wide and deep experience managing and implementing programs. She led the critically acclaimed Dreamcatcher Repertory Theater Company during its fledgling years. She chaired Interweave’s Development Committee, and played a key role in several fundraising campaigns for the organization.

Janet embraces the role of executive director. She imagines a period of energizing, improvising and creating, anchoring the Interweave community in its mission as well as reimagining and exploring new possibilities. She truly believes that Interweave’s transformative work and interfaith approach to spirituality is needed now more than ever.
