Has anyone tried black interior door in their home recently?

Hi all, I'm updating my condo and really drawn to the bold look of darker doors instead of the usual white/beige. Black seems trendy but I'm a bit worried it'll make hallways feel too narrow or gloomy. Anyone installed black interior door lately? How do they hold up with dust/kids/pets, and do they actually brighten up with good lighting? Would love real experiences before I commit!

I went with black interior door about 8 months ago after seeing them in a few design mags, and I have zero regrets. They give the place this modern, almost hotel-like feel without being over the top. In my case, they actually make the space look more put-together because they hide fingerprints and light scuffs way better than lighter colors. Just make sure you have decent overhead lights or some wall sconces—otherwise it can feel a bit cave-like in low-light rooms. I found a solid range of options (from matte to glossy finishes) here that weren't crazy expensive: black interior door Delivery was quick too. If your walls are neutral or light, the contrast pops nicely. Definitely recommend if you want something different.

Best dish brush for cast iron pans?

Hi all, I recently got a cast iron skillet and want to clean it properly without ruining the seasoning. Regular sponges scratch too much and cheap brushes fall apart fast. What kind of dish brush actually works well on cast iron and lasts longer than a month?

Cast iron needs gentle but effective cleaning to keep the seasoning intact. I’ve tried several brushes over the years and most plastic ones wear out quickly or leave scratches. Stiffer bristles help with stuck bits, but they shouldn’t be metal. A good compromise is something with durable nylon bristles and a comfortable grip. I’ve been using this 1 dish brush for a few months now and it’s holding up decently on my cast iron without damaging anything. The head is firm enough for scrubbing but not aggressive. Just rinse it well after each use and hang it to dry so it doesn’t get moldy. If you wash a lot of greasy pans, consider getting two so one can air out while you use the other.

Removing dog hair and lint from kids’ school uniforms?

My son’s school blazer and trousers always have dog hair and lint by the end of the week. Washing every day isn’t practical—what’s a quick evening routine to keep them neat?

Uniforms collect pet hair fast with kids and dogs around. I hang them up right after school and do a quick once-over. A damp cloth loosens some, but adhesive gets the embedded stuff. Keeping lint roller for clothes by the coat rack means we roll the blazer and pants in a couple minutes each night—it clears hair and lint without wrinkling or fading the fabric. Saves on extra laundry and he looks tidy for school.

Which 12 oz takeaway coffee cups don’t taste like paper?

Hate when cheap paper cups make coffee taste like wet cardboard. Looking for better quality paper coffee cups 12 oz with lids that don’t add weird flavor. Any brands people actually like?

The Primens ones have a clean taste – no strong paper aftertaste even with black coffee. The inside coating seems decent and they don’t leach anything noticeable. Lids fit well too, no weird plastic smell. Been using them for home office and guest coffee without complaints. Pretty standard size and stack nicely. You can take a look here: paper coffee cups 12 oz . Usually 100 per box and lasts a while.
