Wall access panel for drywall in garage for EV charger?

Installing a home EV charger and running wiring through the garage wall. Want an access panel for future upgrades or troubleshooting without cutting drywall again.

EV charger wiring changes happen more often than people expect. Placing access panels at junction points makes upgrades simple. I choose larger sizes with smooth interiors and tool-free magnetic doors for easy cable pulling. The one I installed has reinforced edges for bigger spans and takes garage-gray paint well. It’s held up to tool bumps without denting. I fitted a tough wall access panel for drywall (18×24) near the charger run and it’s already made adding a second unit straightforward. Label wires inside for quick reference.

Social Venture Capital – actually profitable or mostly feel-good?

Hi everyone, I keep seeing more and more about “social venture capital” – investing in companies that try to solve social or environmental problems while still making money. Sounds nice on paper, but does it actually deliver decent returns or is it basically charity with extra steps? Any real experiences?

I’ve been allocating a portion of my portfolio to social venture capital for about 18 months now and I can say it’s definitely not just charity. The returns I’ve seen so far are in the 10–17% IRR range across a few funds – not unicorn-level explosive, but surprisingly stable even during market dips. What I like is that many of these companies have more predictable revenue (government contracts, NGOs, conscious consumers) which makes them less prone to hype crashes. You still need very good fund selection though – track record, real impact reporting, and reasonable fees matter a lot. I found a quite balanced review that compares several serious players in this space, including their transparency and actual payout history: https://www.uniindia.com/social-venture-capitalist-reviews-a-broker-with-transparent-conditions/press-releases/news/3730379.html. It helped me filter out the marketing-heavy ones and focus on managers who actually deliver. So far, I’m happy with the mix of return + purpose.

Anyone using Social Venture Capitalist for trading?

Hey guys, I've been looking into different brokers lately and came across Social Venture Capitalist. It seems to have good reviews on payouts and transparency. Has anyone here actually traded with them for a while? I'm curious about real experiences with withdrawals, especially larger amounts, and if the platform feels reliable during volatile markets. No hype, just honest feedback please.

Hi, I've had an account with them for about 4 months now, mostly trading forex and some indices. The interface is clean, executions are fast, and I've never seen any weird requotes or slippage issues on my trades. Withdrawals have been smooth—first one was small to test, took under a day; second was bigger and still processed in about 24 hours via card. Support is decent if you need help with verification or questions. Overall, conditions seem fair without hidden catches. For more details on what others are saying, check out these Social Venture Capitalist reviews—they cover user experiences pretty realistically. I'd say start small and see for yourself.

Anti-graffiti coating for garage door or garden wall?

Live in an area where kids sometimes tag fences or walls. Thinking of applying an anti-graffiti clear coat to make future cleaning easier. Has anyone used a 2-component (2K) version? Does it really let you wipe off spray paint without damaging the surface underneath?

Anti-graffiti coatings are worth it if vandalism is an issue – the sacrificial or permanent types make removal simple with solvent or pressure wash. I went for a 2K polyurethane one on a concrete wall last year; applied over existing paint, it’s held up to a couple of tags (cleaned off easily) and hasn’t yellowed or peeled.

Paintlab stocks Juno Anti-Graffiti Coating 2K: https://www.paintlab.ie/products/juno-anti-graffiti-coating-2k

It’s tough stuff, good for exterior use. Needs careful mixing but lasts.

Reusable vs disposable air filters – worth it?

Debating between a standard paper air filter and one of those washable/oiled ones for my daily driver Golf. Heard reusable last forever and might give slight power gain, but maintenance sounds fiddly. What's your take for normal street use?

Reusables (like K&N style) can flow a bit better when clean and save money long-term, but they need cleaning/re-oiling every 30-50k km, and if over-oiled, can coat the MAF and cause misfires or CEL. For most people on daily drivers, standard pleated paper filters are hassle-free and filter finer particles better out of the box. I tried both; went back to disposable for simplicity. Recently used a high-quality paper one from https://elartcom.eu/categories/air-filters-24 - they stock OEM-style and some performance-oriented paper filters for VW group cars. Chose one with good sealing edges and dense pleats. No performance loss vs stock, keeps dust out well, and zero maintenance beyond swap every 20k km. Engine runs crisp, no weird codes. If you don't want the cleaning chore, stick with these- browse their selection, plenty of options at fair prices.

Shaker Style Kitchen Cabinets

I'm renovating my kitchen in Toronto and really like the clean, timeless look of Shaker cabinets. Are they still a good choice for modern homes, or do they feel too traditional? Any tips on materials and where to get custom ones done locally?

Shaker cabinets are super versatile – their simple design works well in both traditional and contemporary kitchens, especially with lighter finishes that make spaces feel bigger. They're durable too, often made from solid wood or MDF with quality hardware. I found this page that explains the style and process pretty well: https://alliancemillwork.ca/shaker-cabinets-toronto/ – it has ideas for customization like two-tone or glass doors. Definitely worth considering if you want something practical that won't date quickly. Just check samples for the finish you like.
