The Rev. Shawn Carty

Shawn is a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark. Over the past 20 years he has served United Methodist and Episcopal congregations in Washington State, the Rocky Mountains in Idaho, and New Jersey. Shawn was raised on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle, and is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University and the Theological School at Drew University. He is married to Jeanne, a hospice nurse, and has one daughter, Sarah.


Elaine Citron

Elaine has been a long- time member of Interweave. A life-long love of the arts she has been an art teacher, a jewelry designer and presently is the President of an art licensing agency She resides in Union with her husband. She treasures time spent with her family, her daughter, grandson and son-in law. She Loves traveling and time spent gardening.

Moya Keating

Moya and her husband Brendan have lived in Chatham for over 30 years. Together they have three grown children. Currently, Moya is working as a Hospice Chaplain and Spiritual Director. She is also a Dean at One Spirit Learning Alliance’s program for Interspiritual Counseling (New York City). Moya has looked to Interweave as a community resource for growth and education for many years. In the landscape of suburban life, when our connections can feel difficult to maintain, Moya describes Interweave as a consistent oasis for thoughtful engagement. With enthusiasm, she welcomes the opportunity to serve on the board.


Joseph LaVela

Joe is a retired attorney who spent most of his career at AT&T and its spin-off companies. He is active in the Diocese, as member of the Executive Committee of the Commission on Ministry and was a member of the XI Bishop Search/ Nominating Committee and Coordinator of one of the Action Learning Teams. He is active in the Benedictine Spirituality group at Calvary Summit, has volunteered at Vacation Bible Camps and is occasional guest instrumentalist (recorder) at Grace Episcopal in Madison. He is a GED tutor at All The Way Up Adult Education Center in Newark, where he is also President of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer, and is a Board member and Treasurer of Dorcas Aid America, an international relief and development agency.


Jacqueline D. McLeod, MPH

Jacqueline is the Executive Director of Healing Communities Network (HCN), a prison re-entry program for the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated that addresses issues of trauma and successful re-integration into the community. She is currently a Postulant, in training as an ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Dioceses of Newark.

Dilek Oztoprak, M.A.

Dilek teaches Turkish in the Department of African, Middle Eastern, South Asian Language and Literature at Rutgers University. She is a member of Peace Islands Institute, which works  to promote mutual respect and understanding of different ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds, and a board member of the Turkish Cultural Center North Jersey. Dilek is also a core member of Interweave’s Daughters of Abraham program.


Sun-Hwan Spriggs

Sun is a Spiritual Director and Centering Prayer presenter and facilitator, who started new groups in this area.   She is also a Spiritual Director and leads Centering Prayer group at the Upper Room Spiritual Center in Neptune, NJ. She served on the Boards of Mission Namibia in San Diego, CA, and First Friends NJ NY in Kearny, NJ, in previous years. She is currently in the diaconate ordination process in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark.  She has been a hospice volunteer for over 12 years and tutors adult students at the All The Way Up, a shared ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark. She is a Reiki master.
